MinaLima Reveals 'Defenders of Hogwarts' Board Game From Harry Potter Film Designers
The new tabletop game from the Harry Potter graphic design duo launches at retail in Autumn 2026, with a global multi-language release set for Spring 2027.
MinaLima, the graphic design studio behind the visual identity of the Harry Potter film series, is entering the world of tabletop gaming. The studio has announced Defenders of Hogwarts, a new Harry Potter board game that places the fate of the school in players' hands as Lord Voldemort's forces close in on the castle.
About the Defenders of Hogwarts Board Game
Designed for 2 to 5 players ages 13 and up, Defenders of Hogwarts challenges participants to explore the Hogwarts grounds, develop their spell-casting abilities, and prepare to face Death Eaters and Dark Forces that have breached the school. In a departure from straightforward hero gameplay, the Harry Potter board game also allows players to align with Voldemort, taking on the role of a Dark Forces operative working against the school's defenders.

Co-founder Miraphora Mina added that the studio's 25-year history with the franchise has continually pushed them toward new formats. "With Defenders of Hogwarts, our studio is exploring a whole new level of interactivity and storytelling. Defenders of Hogwarts Kickstarter Campaign and Release Details
The Defenders of Hogwarts board game has been developed by MinaLima in partnership with award-winning industrial designer David Waterman and in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. MinaLima is offering an incentive for early Kickstarter backers: fans who sign up for the studio's mailing list and pledge at any tier during the campaign will receive an exclusive Defenders of Hogwarts pin, which will not be sold through retail channels.
Defenders of Hogwarts will be available in a limited release through select online retailers, House of MinaLima locations, and Harry Potter Shops beginning Autumn 2026. A global release in multiple languages is planned for Spring 2027.
The Harry Potter universe continues to maintain a major theatrical presence as well, with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child currently running on Broadway at the Lyric Theatre.
