Fantastic Beasts Franchise Finds New Streaming Home on Peacock Starting November 1

Peacock becomes the new streaming destination for all three 'Fantastic Beasts' films, expanding its lineup of the 'Harry Potter' franchise.

The Fantastic Beasts trilogy, set in the magical world of Harry Potter, has found a new streaming home on Peacock. Starting November 1, fans can watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore on the platform.

The prequel series introduces audiences to Newt Scamander, a magizoologist portrayed by Eddie Redmayne. In the first installment, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), Newt arrives in New York with a magically expanded suitcase brimming with mystical creatures. When several of these creatures escape, it’s up to Newt to track them down before they cause chaos in the city. This film received widespread acclaim, earning a 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and grossing $814 million worldwide.

However, the sequels faced mixed receptions. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) follows the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald’s quest to control the non-magical world, with Dumbledore (Jude Law) seeking Newt’s help to stop him. The film, despite its $654.9 million box office earnings, was criticized for its complex plot and overabundance of characters, resulting in a 36% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

The final chapter, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022), continues to explore Dumbledore’s battle against Grindelwald, played by Mads Mikkelsen. This time, the storyline centers around assembling a team of witches, wizards, and a Muggle to thwart the dark wizard’s quest for power. The film grossed $407 million globally and received a lukewarm 46% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

The Fantastic Beasts cast features a roster of talented actors, including Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Callum Turner, Zoë Kravitz, and Jessica Williams. Notably, Jude Law and Mads Mikkelsen take on pivotal roles as Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

With the Fantastic Beasts franchise now available on Peacock, fans of the wizarding world can revisit these magical stories or discover them for the first time. Streaming begins on November 1.
