This summer, the Harry Potter New York store is launching a new feature that will have you levitating with excitement – a broomstick green screen experience. And better yet, Matthew Lewis was on hand to test it all out!
Forget the Euros and the Olympics; the only sport we’re interested in is broomstick flying. Thanks to the good people at the Harry Potter New York store (with a little help from Harry Potter alumnus Matthew Lewis), we can fully immerse ourselves in our Quidditch fantasies.
Matthew’s character, Neville Longbottom, was never the greatest flier in the Harry Potter series. So, can he redeem himself? The green screen broomstick experience, launching today, invites you to have your photo taken flying over enchanting scenes (just like the cast while filming the movies!), including the flying car sequence and the opportunity to soar over Hogwarts castle – exclusive to Harry Potter New York. Choose from a variety of photo and video packages, available for purchase as a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
Fans can also look forward to a collection of new-to-the-store props from the Harry Potter films, including the Philosopher’s (or Sorcerer’s!) Stone, the Time-Turner Necklace, the Nimbus 2001 broomstick, and wands from well-known characters such as Bellatrix Lestrange, Sirius Black, Severus Snape, and Draco Malfoy.
To celebrate the new store experiences, from June 20th to June 23rd, fans can enjoy complimentary 30-minute tours spotlighting the props. Tours will start every hour from 9 am to 6 pm, beginning at the Butterbeer Bar. Don’t miss out – tours are first-come, first-served and limited to 10 people per tour.
Harry Potter New York will also serve a delightful, limited-time Quidditch-inspired cupcake available exclusively at the Butterbeer Bar. Plus, free personalization on any product will be available from June 20th to June 23rd with a purchase.
