A mother is suing Warner Bros, claiming a defective Harry Potter toy impaled her toddler’s eye.
Per the lawsuit filed by the mother Jessica Perry, it is alleged the toy was defective. Perry claims her son was waving the wand around, as one might expect a child to do if they’ve seen the movies, when “the metal writing portion of the pen ejected from the wand, flew across the room and pierced her younger son’s eye.”
The pen ruptured his eyeball, and her son required two surgeries as a result, and he was nearly left blind. The lawsuit alleges that another online review for the product describes a similar incident.
She is suing for $8 million in compensatory damages for the injuries, emotional distress, and punitive damages.
