Harry Potter Ride and Viking Camp Temporarily Close During Epic Universe Previews

As Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe prepares for its official grand opening on May 22, guests attending the park’s preview period are getting an early look at the highly anticipated expansion. However, not all experiences will be available during this soft opening phase.

According to the latest update on Universal’s Epic Universe Preview page, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry will be closed from May 10 through May 16. While the attraction itself will be unavailable, the surrounding Ministry of Magic area will remain open for self-guided exploration. Guests can still walk through the magical atrium and take photos within the immersive wizarding environment.

Meanwhile, over in the Isle of Berk section of the park, Viking Training Camp will also be closed from May 13 through May 16. The attraction typically offers interactive play areas inspired by the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. Despite the closure, other attractions and features in the land will remain open.

These temporary closures come as part of the technical rehearsal process common during theme park previews. Universal has advised guests that additional rides or dining locations may be subject to unannounced downtime as the park prepares for full operations.
