HBO Max has offered fans a fresh glimpse at its highly anticipated Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone series in a new "Coming Soon" promo released Sunday, ahead of the show's Christmas Day premiere.
New 'Harry Potter' Series Footage Revealed
The sizzle reel, which highlights the streamer's upcoming slate for the second half of 2026, features a new look at the titular boy wizard taking to the quidditch field. The Harry Potter HBO Max series will premiere on Christmas Day 2026, marking the franchise's long-awaited return to the screen as a serialized television adaptation of the novels by J.K. Rowling.
Record-Breaking Harry Potter Trailer Set the Stage
The new footage follows the first teaser for the Harry Potter series, which debuted in March and became the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history. That record-breaking debut underscored the level of fan anticipation surrounding the new adaptation, which is expected to span multiple seasons as it works through the seven-book Harry Potter series.
What Else Is Coming to HBO Max
The new Harry Potter footage appeared alongside teases for other upcoming HBO Max originals in the "Coming Soon" promo. The reel features a look at Kyle Chandler suited up in the Lanterns superhero costume ahead of that series' August 16 debut, as well as a glimpse of Kevin Sussman reprising his Big Bang Theory character Stuart Bloom in the spin-off Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, which premieres July 23.
Returning HBO Max titles featured in the promo include Season 4 of The Gilded Age, which kicks off in 2026, and Season 3 of House of the Dragon, premiering June 21. Other new projects teased include Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks in August, Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness on June 26, and 2026 titles Monsters of God, The Man Will Burn, and War and Youth.
