HBO's Harry Potter series has locked in three more actors for Season 2, which adapts Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Rafe Spall, Molly Hewitt-Richards, and Jasper Ambrose have joined the cast as Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle, and Colin Creevey, respectively. Production is currently underway at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK.
A Closer Look at the New Cast
Spall takes on the role of the Weasley family patriarch, a Ministry of Magic employee and father of seven children including Ron Weasley. Mark Williams originated the part in the film franchise. Spall's credits include Apple TV+'s Trying and Sky's Under Salt Marsh. He follows his father, Timothy Spall, who played Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) in the original films.
Hewitt-Richards will play Moaning Myrtle, the ghost who haunts the second-floor girls' bathroom at Hogwarts. The character was previously portrayed by Shirley Henderson in the movies. Hewitt-Richards has appeared in Code of Silence and Casualty.
Ambrose steps into the role of Colin Creevey, a first-year Gryffindor who is rarely seen without his camera and is an enthusiastic fan of Harry Potter. Hugh Mitchell played Creevey in the 2002 film adaptation of Chamber of Secrets.
More Season 2 Additions
The trio joins previously announced Season 2 cast members Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Lenny Rush as Dobby, and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle.
