Production Begins on HBO’s Harry Potter TV Series, Set for 2027 Premiere

Production has officially commenced on the HBO Original Harry Potter television series at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK. The series is slated to debut in 2027 on HBO and will be available for streaming on HBO Max in current and upcoming markets, including Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

New cast members have been announced: Rory Wilmot will portray Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson will play Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey joins as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser will appear as Garrick Ollivander.

Behind the scenes, several department heads have been confirmed for the production. Adriano Goldman serves as Director of Photography, with Cate Hall as Hair and Makeup Designer. Paul Herbert joins as Stunt Coordinator, Mark Holt as SFX Supervisor, and Mara LePere-Schloop as Production Designer. Additional team members include Naomi Moore (Set Decorator), John Nolan (Creature Effects Design Supervisor), Alexis Wajsbrot (VFX Supervisor), and Dom Sidoli (VFX Producer). Previously announced, Holly Waddington will serve as Costume Designer.

The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes. The production is a collaboration between HBO, Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television. Executive producers include J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts for Brontë Film and TV, alongside David Heyman of Heyday Films.
